Hey There

I'm Sadie Thompson, I'm 27 years old and I've been exploring my passion for photography and what I like best for the last 10 years. I quickly realized I'm not the greatest with people, although those roommate and friend photoshoots were always the best! I've always loved going up canyons to take landscape photos and taking my camera up hiking and camping. I would go out at night and take long exposure photos to get a photo of lakes and mountain sides. My love of wildlife began in 2023 when I went to Zimbabwe and Costa Rica and took photos of the turtles and African wildlife. Now, I am getting into bird photography and navigating the skill to photograph them.

How I Got Started

My name is Sadie! I picked up a camera senior year of High School with my grandpas old camera and of course I fell in love with taking pictures.

I started traveling in 2023 when I took a once in a lifetime trip to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe for a Wildlife Photography Internship/Volunteer program for a few weeks. There, I took pictures of the animals there to showcase what this camp does whether its following along side the employees as they feed the lions, capture up close look of the hyenas or take care of the smaller animals that we look after, etc. We took some day trips to the Zambezi National Park where I got to go on game drives and take the most stunning photos of amazing wildlife and another trip to Botswana to the Chobe National Park where we got to see even more wildlife. Since we were in Victoria Falls home of the actual famous Victoria Falls we of course made a afternoon trip to see it which was breathtaking.

In 2024 I took a trip with a friend to Costa Rica for another volunteer program where we stayed at a camp right off the beach to help save turtles and protect the beach. There was a hatchery where green turtle eggs were kept protected and when they hatched we measured them before releasing them. Letting them go and watching them make their way to the ocean was hands down the best part. At night we would do night patrols to look for green/leatherback turtles (to get their eggs in the hatchery for protection) and spot poachers wandering the beach.

In 2024 and 2025 my husband and I were able to go to Oahu Hawaii on our honeymoon as well as with my family. I took my camera when we went with my family and I still regret not taking it both trips. But the sunsets and the views there, so colorful and vibrant.
